The short version
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Daily Pet Log stores the account and pet records you create so they sync across your devices and the people you invite — and you can delete all of it at any time.
1 Who we are and what this covers
IQ Brands, LLC (“IQ Brands,” “we,” “us”) is the company behind the products listed on this site. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
This policy covers:
- This website, iqbrands.io
- The Daily Pet Log iOS app
This policy does not cover ThemeParkIQ. ThemeParkIQ has its own privacy policy at themeparkiq.com/privacy-policy. If you use ThemeParkIQ, that policy governs your information there.
It also doesn’t cover other companies’ services. When we link to a site we don’t run, their privacy practices are their own.
2 This website
iqbrands.io is an informational site. It has no accounts, no forms, and no payment processing.
We do not set cookies on this website, and we do not run analytics on it.
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs when a page is requested. These typically include your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. Our host keeps these to deliver the site, diagnose faults, and defend against abuse. We don’t use them to build a profile of you or to identify you.
If you email an address listed on this site, we receive whatever you write and keep it so we can reply and maintain a record of the conversation.
3 Daily Pet Log
Daily Pet Log keeps a shared daily record of a pet’s care. It uses an account so your records sync across your devices and are visible to the people you invite.
Information you give us
- Account details. Your email address and a password, which we store only as a cryptographic hash — we can’t read it. Optionally, a display name so co-caregivers can tell who logged an entry.
- Pet profiles. Details you choose to record, such as a pet’s name, species, breed, birthday, weight, and photo.
- Care records. The entries you log — feedings, walks, medications, vet visits, notes, and any photos you attach.
- Invitations. If you invite someone to share a pet’s record, we use the email address you provide to send that invitation.
Information collected automatically
- Device and diagnostic data. If the app crashes, Apple may send us a crash report through its standard developer tools — but only if you have turned on sharing in iOS Settings. These reports describe device model, OS version, and where the app failed. They don’t contain your pet records.
- Basic service logs. When the app syncs, our servers log the request, the account involved, and the time, so we can operate the service and investigate problems.
Purchases
Any purchases or subscriptions are handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple processes your payment. We never receive your card number or billing details — only confirmation of whether a purchase or subscription is active.
Permissions the app may ask for
Daily Pet Log asks your permission before using device features, and you can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings. If you allow access to your photo library or camera, we use it only for the images you choose to attach. If you allow notifications, we use them only for reminders and activity on pets you follow.
4 How we use information
We use personal information only to:
- Provide the service — store your records and sync them to your devices and invited caregivers
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Send necessary service messages, such as password resets, invitations, and notices about changes
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Meet legal obligations
Legal bases (Europe and the UK). We process your information to perform our contract with you (running your account and syncing your records); on our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, reliable, and free of abuse); with your consent where we ask for it, such as notifications or photo access, which you may withdraw at any time; and to comply with legal obligations.
5 Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers below, only as needed to run the product, and only under contracts that require them to protect it and forbid using it for their own purposes.
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | App distribution, In-App Purchase, crash reporting | Purchase and subscription status; crash diagnostics you opt into |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosts the website, app servers, and database, and sends our transactional email through Amazon SES | Everything the service stores, standard server logs, and the recipient address and contents of emails we send you |
Other caregivers. When you invite someone to a pet’s record, they can see that pet’s profile, its care entries, and which account made each entry. Share access only with people you trust.
We may also disclose information if required by law — a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process — or where necessary to protect our rights, our users’ safety, or the public. If IQ Brands is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will give notice here before it becomes subject to a different policy.
6 What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- We do not use advertising networks or ad SDKs in our products.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
- We do not use your pet records to train machine learning models.
- We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
7 Where data is stored
We operate in the United States. Personal information is stored and processed on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in United States regions.
If you use our products from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your information is transferred to the United States, which has different data protection laws than your home country. Where required, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) as the safeguard for those transfers. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards using the contact details in section 15.
8 How long we keep it
- Account and pet records: for as long as your account is active.
- After you delete your account: removed from our live systems within 30 days, and purged from encrypted backups within 90 days.
- Server and security logs: up to 12 months.
- Email you send us: as long as needed for the matter, and for our business records afterward.
- Records we must keep by law, such as tax and transaction records: for the period the law requires.
9 Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all associated records from inside the Daily Pet Log app, without emailing us and without any dark patterns. Deleting your account removes your profile, your pets, and the entries you created, on the timeline in section 8.
You can also email privacy@iqbrands.io and we’ll handle it for you.
One limit worth knowing: if you shared a pet with other caregivers, entries you made may remain visible in that shared record so its history stays intact. We remove your name from them on request.
10 Your rights in Europe and the UK
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we process it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Email privacy@iqbrands.io to exercise any of these. We respond within one month, and we won’t charge you or treat you differently for asking.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We’d appreciate the chance to address your concern first.
11 Your rights in California
Under the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request a copy of it, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — so there is nothing to opt out of. We also do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a “Limit the Use” option.
In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described in sections 2 and 3: identifiers (such as email address and IP address), commercial information (subscription status), internet or network activity (server logs and crash diagnostics), and the content you create in the app. We collect it from you directly and from your device, for the purposes in section 4, and disclose it for business purposes only to the providers in section 5.
To make a request, email privacy@iqbrands.io. We will verify it by asking you to respond from the email address on the account. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission. We will never deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service for exercising these rights.
12 Children
Our products are intended for adults. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email privacy@iqbrands.io and we will delete the account and its data promptly. If you are a parent or guardian, you may contact us at any time to review, correct, or delete information associated with your child.
13 Security
We protect personal information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords stored only as salted hashes, encryption of stored data, access limited to the few people who need it, and regular updates to our dependencies.
No service can promise perfect security, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.
14 Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our products or the law change. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will tell you before it takes effect — by email or in the app — and where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
